Assessment in the Drama Classroom (London Drama in partnership with National Drama) - NATIONAL DRAMA

Assessment in the Drama Classroom (London Drama in partnership with National Drama)

This session will create an opportunity to learn how to develop a culturally responsive and student-centred approach to assessment in Drama.

On Thursday 1st February 7-8pm on Zoom we will be joined by Jonathan P. Jones who will provide an accessible tool for Drama educators to engage in critical reflection on assessment. He will provide methods and suggestions for reimagining their assessment practices and be empowered to meet the learning needs of their students.

About this session

In this interactive workshop, participants will:
• get a refresher on learning objectives and how to generate them.
• investigate overviews of summative, diagnostic, and formative assessments: what they are, how to craft them, and how to use them for learning.
• promotes reflective practice (teacher’s self-assessment practices) to enhance teaching and learning.

Why this session is good to come to

Though there are many books on drama content and teaching methods, assessment is generally given a small sliver of attention—a status-quo that invites disruption: how can we plan instruction and deliver content if we don’t have a firm foundation in how we will measure student growth and learning?

Session Fee: This session was free for 80 bookings. Now there are 15 places on donations only to cover new Eventbrite fees charged on Free events.
