Conference Support Bursary

  • Do you wish to attend a conference that will extend your drama subject knowledge?
  • Do you hope to attend a conference to present a paper?
  • Do you wish to attend an international or national conference to represent National Drama?
  • Do you hope to develop your practice by working with a renowned practitioner?

These are just possibilities. National Drama welcomes suggestions for any conference attendance by members, although the possibility of funding is finite. Above all else, ND is an association that contributes to members’ professional development and conference attendance is certainly a discrete dimension of that aspiration.

This research possibility is open to any of our members: undergraduates, early careers teachers, MA or PhD students, primary teachers who wish to use drama across the curriculum, secondary teachers who want to extend their students’ examination experiences, teachers who wish to establish a cross-curricular project, a Youth Theatre director initiative or a community practitioner with an interest in theatre, drama or social justice.

How to Apply

Email to a one-page (A4) proposal of why and how this bursary will help and support your professional development. Tell us a little about yourself and your work.

  • You need to be a member of National Drama.
  • On your return we require a balanced conference report, with photographs if possible, for the Drama Magazine. You will see your name in print!
  • Some information will be required for our marketing team during your conference which we can post on social media.
  • The bursary will be paid upon submission of receipts.

We would also like to promote your work further by inviting you to contribute to a live or Zoom event to celebrate your achievement.
