Your Students as Authors

Hi Christopher!

HAVE YOU GOT DRAMA STUDENTS WHO WOULD ENJOY SEEING THEIR WORK IN PRINT? Get involved in our new Celebrate Young Drama campaign!
We want to get student voices into our magazine and website. If you have a budding actor journalist (or young technician) who can write between at least 300 words on one of these four categories: –
• what they love, find terrifying, loathe, struggle with and really enjoy in Drama
• their best and worst Drama moments to date
• their ‘blue sky’ acting moment – what is their best play, role, cast and director/designer and stage?
• best experience of Live Theatre

Sound good? Do send drafts to publications@nationaldrama.org.uk with their article title, name, a picture of you and your student (s) and a bit about your school, the Head’s name, contact details, and cross your fingers! All published articles will receive the magazine and certificates for the student and for the school recognising their work and your teacher’s encouragement.
Deadline: 30th April 2019 for the July 2019 edition of Drama.
Deadline: 31st October 2019 for the January 2020 edition of Drama.

National Drama Reconvened AGM

National Drama

Hi Christopher!

Just a note to give you advanced notice of National Drama’s Reconvened Annual General Meeting to be held on Friday 29th March 5.30-7pm at a venue in London to be confirmed.

We are holding this event because the AGM on Saturday 24th November 2018, National Drama’s first AGM since becoming a Charity, was inquorate.

The election of Officers has taken place so the business of the meeting will be the proposed motions at Motions for AGM

We do hope you will be able to attend the reconvened AGM. Please RSVP to secretary@nationaldrama.org.uk

All the best to you.

Yours,

Aine Lark

Chair of National Drama

The Result of the AGM

National Drama

Hi !

Thank you to everyone who has participated in National Drama’s first Annual General Meeting as a Charity held on Saturday 24th November whether by attending in person or by using their proxy vote.

In the event, the meeting was inquorate so National Drama was not able to carry out the business of the meeting and vote on the four motions that were tabled (see Motions). We will reconvene the AGM in the New Year to do so.

However, we were able to complete the ballot for the Executive posts and I can report the results here.

Chairperson: Aine Lark (51 votes); Karen Latto (17 votes); Aine Lark returned as Chairperson.

Vice Chair: Holly Barradell (22 votes); Zeena Rasheed (42 votes); Zeena Rasheed returned as Vice Chair.

Secretary: Konstantina Kalogirou (44 votes); Catherine Nash (20 votes); Konstantina Kalogirou returned as Secretary.

Treasurer: Chris Lawrence (56 votes); Alexandria Rooke (10 votes); Chris Lawrence returned as Treasurer.

Publicity and Marketing Officer: Bertie Bruno (9 votes); Vivienne Lafferty (42 votes); Emma Love (12 votes); Vivienne Lafferty returned as Publicity and Marketing Officer.

Four posts were uncontested so the following were elected, or re-elected, unopposed.

Membership Officer: Ed Taylor-Gooby

Publications Officer: Chris Lawrence

Secondary Officer: Ali Warren.

Theatre Officer: Edward Boott

However, since the ballot, Ed Taylor-Gooby and Edward Boott have contacted me to say they no longer wish to take up their posts. We are naturally disappointed by this but we wish them both well.

Once again, many thanks for your participation and our thanks also go to Alexander and Ben from the Electoral Reform Services for their excellent management of the ballot throughout.

Warm wishes,

Aine Lark
