National Drama’s CPD training for secondary teachers on
Saturday 3rd June 2017: 9am-5pm.
National Drama has arranged a day of workshops and resources for confident delivery of new spec GCSEs.
Workshop One: Making Words Work – Tackling the Written Papers with Confidence led by Susie Ferguson
Workshop Two: Using the Skills of the Playwright to Shape Devised Work led by Evan Placey
You will experience both workshops in the day.
About the Course Leaders: Susie Ferguson has been teaching drama for 16 years. Susie is also a freelance Education Consultant and was involved in discussions with the DfE during the recent A Level and GCSE specification changes. Susie frequently presents courses for Keynote Educational, and works extensively with the National Theatre, creating resources, presenting courses for teachers and students and consulting on projects such as On Demand In Schools. Most recently Susie has worked with a major West End and international theatre company to create resources to support the delivery of the Live Production module of GCSE and A Level Drama and Theatre.
Evan Placey’s plays have been produced by theatres across the UK including the National Theatre, Birmingham REP, West Yorkshire Playhouse, Plymouth Drum, York Theatre Royal, The Unicorn, Hampstead and the National Youth Theatre in the West End. His plays have been produced internationally and translated into multiple languages. His plays include Girls Like That, Consensual, Pronoun, Scarberia, WiLd!, Holloway Jones, Banana Boys and Mother of Him. His work is published by Nick Hern Books, Methuen, and Samuel French. Evan’s plays have won multiple awards including the Writers’ Guild Award and the Brian Way Award.
