I was elected Chair of National Drama in November 2014, succeeding Patrice Baldwin.
I am primary teacher, drama facilitator, PhD researcher and secretary at National Drama. Wearing all these hats I have realised how beneficial and handy the skill of drama is for an educator. My doctoral research focuses on vocabulary acquisition through drama and the latter has been proved as one of the most creative, enjoyable and efficient way of learning a language. I consider drama not only as art but also as a teaching medium ready to satisfy every learner’s expectations.
I have a lot of experience as a Drama teacher having worked as a class teacher in both Primary and Secondary Schools, as Head of Drama, Advisory Drama Teacher and as Leader of a TiE Team. Currently I edit Drama Magazine and Drama Research and am Acting Treasurer but I am also Co-ordinator of London Drama and a Trustee of Southwark Theatres Education Partnership (STEP) and Blue Elephant Theatre in Camberwell.
I am a founder Member of National Drama my Membership Number being 1.
I was co-opted to the executive because of my exam board and assessment knowledge. I organised the Secondary Conferences of 2014 and 2015 and manage our Twitter account. I work in Drama Development and previously was a Head of Drama. I am also a moderator, examiner and Ofqual subject expert for Drama.
